Armagh City U-18 3 - 2 Lisburn Rangers U-18

City's Under 18 team continued their fine run of form on Saturday with a 3-2 home win over joint leaders Lisburn Rangers.

Rangers started well and took the lead after 5 minutes from a corner. City then missed a chance to equalise when Matty Hynds put a penalty over the bar but he made up for the miss soon after, when he set up Ally Dodds who finished well.

Rangers struck back with another goal from a corner and this seemed to shock City into action. City piled on the pressure and were rewarded when Ryan McMahon clipped a shot into the bottom corner after good work by Jamie Crooks.

With the score at 2-2 City started the second half well and went ahead when Paudraig Rafferty lobbed the keeper. City were well on top at this stage and were threatening to go further ahead when they had a player sent off. Rangers piled on the pressure for the last 20 minutes but City defended superbly with Luke Grimley, Dara Noonan, Jamie Cooks and, keeper, Jack Grugan all outstanding.

This win keeps City at the top of the League with five wins from five. Next up is Ballinamallard on Sat 18th - venue TBC.
